U.S. House Committees Advance Crypto Market Structure Legislation
The House Agriculture Committee overwhelmingly approved the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act in a 47-6 vote, signaling bipartisan support for establishing regulatory frameworks for digital assets. The bill aims to clarify jurisdictional boundaries between the CFTC and SEC while enhancing consumer protections.
Simultaneously, the House Financial Services Committee worked on final revisions to companion legislation. Across Capitol Hill, Senate lawmakers moved toward a vote on stablecoin regulation—marking the most coordinated legislative push for crypto oversight to date.
"This provides certainty to markets, fills regulatory gaps, and bolsters American innovation," said Agriculture Committee Chairman Glenn Thompson. The coordinated efforts reflect growing institutional recognition of digital assets as a legitimate asset class requiring clear guidelines.
